What I've been up to

Hi Everyone,  It's hard to keep up with a blog for me.  There is always something else on the agenda.  I'm sure we all feel the same way.  I thought this year might not be quite so busy but I was wrong.  I've been entering a few shows.  Some successfully, others not so much but that's the way it goes.  I thought today I'd just post a couple of new paintings.  Take care and thanks for being faithful followers.

The first painting is from my trip to Provence a couple of years ago.  The second painting, Desert Drama was done on location in Tucson last November for the American women artist's paint out at the Sonoran Desert Museum.

I'm in two shows in Dallas in April.  Both the openings are on April 6 so that will be a really full day, Rites of Spring, Dutch Art Gallery (the Provence painting will be in that one)  in the morning and Outdoor Painter's Society's Southwest Salon show in the afternoon and evening at Southwest Gallery in Dallas on Sigma Rd.  Stop by if you can.  More info is on my website at

In progress are some illustrative paintings of Women in the Bible or "Women of the Word", a series of books by authors Dr. Nancy Dawson and Raye Pearson.  There will be 7 books and I've been asked to illustrate via paintings the book covers.  I hope to post some images of those very soon.  In addition if you would like to see the author's website and blog, I will update you as that will be up and running before too long as well.  Again, thank you for following my blog!

Just for you, framed $100.00 plus $10.00 shipping

Hi Everyone, Blessings to each of you this new year!  I hope this message finds you with the gift of good health and that you each had a blessed Christmas Season.  I'm happy to be back after many and much 'goings on' for the past 6 months.  I've been in a couple shows, made several road trips and now I'm ready to get back to work at the easel tomorrow in my own studio.  There are a few things coming up on my agenda this spring and summer.  I plan on teaching one final workshop/class at my studio in Cypress, Texas before making plans to move to the Central Texas area sometime later this year.  The info on that is below.  Another is to have a 'spring sale'.   I will be selling some unframed works at a slightly reduced price.  More on that coming up this spring.  Thanks for visiting my blog and my wish for you is to have a blessed New Year!

Here is a tidbit of info for those artists out there reading this blog.  For Christmas, I received two books that I was excited to receive: "Drawing the Head" and "Figure Drawing for all it's worth" by the late Andrew Loomis.  He was an excellent draftsman and wrote several books on drawing the figure, head, and hands.  For a time, these excellent books were hard to come by as they were out of print.  I'm happy to say they are now available for purchase through Amazon.  Here's a link to see info about the 'drawing the head' book.  Or you can google Andrew Loomis.  Take care!
