Dream Lake 8x10
Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Patterson

"Consider the Lilies of the field, how they toil not, neither do they spin..."  Matthew 6:28

Hi Friends
I am going to Wyoming.  (big yeah!!!)  Going to paint, be with friends and paint some more.  I may not post until I get back but then maybe I'll send you some pictures?  I'll be home around the 6th of October.  I am not leaving until later this week so I may have time to get another post in....At any rate, I wanted to send you this little note of inspiration that I received in my mail just now from Robert Genn.  Words of inspiration and wisdom.  Take care and as always, thanks for stopping by.

Note:  After trying to copy and paste Mr. Genn's letter, it just doesn't work so here is the link.  It's a great letter so hope you have time to check it out.  Blessings.....

Thank you again Sarah, Charlotte, Judy, Sheriart, Tracy, Pam, Angela, Theresa, well, all you guys out there in internet land.  It's great when doing the thing that you love connects you with so many others who also love doing the things that we love to do!  Does that make sense?  Hope so.  Well, this is another little personality..this little German Sugar bowl.  They have become like little friends so I hope you get to meet them all in the coming weeks yet....I am enjoying doing these little studies.  This one, is up for bid also but not one of my 50/50 studies.  As always, thanks for stopping by!

Summer Music

Summer Music 12x24 oil on linen

A Big Thank you to those that leave comments.  You don't know how much they matter to me and how much they are appreciated.  All I can say is thank you.  This painting is larger and so not for auction.  It will be taking a trip to Atlanta for the annual AWA (American Women Artist's Association) show which will open at the Huff Harrington Gallery on October 14.  If any of you live in that area and would like to attend, I would love to meet you.  The opening is that Friday evening at 6 pm.  Please come and introduce yourself.  Fortunately, my sister lives in Atlanta so I have 2 reasons to visit my sis and also to go to the show.

Thanks for visiting my blog!  Have a wonderful weekend.

The Austrian Creamer

The Austrian Creamer 5x5 oil on gatorboard panel
The Austrian Creamer
I love to collect old dishes and I have several of these small china sugar bowls, creamers, and tea cups.  Some are so intricate and it is a real challenge to paint them and get the character of each one.  This one is so pretty and paper thin, I wish you could see it in person!  It's from Austria according to the lady I purchased it from.  Thanks for visiting my blog.  Please keep all the folks here in Texas in your prayers.  So many homes have been destroyed.  We need some rain so badly...

The Power of Art to do Good!

Stop And Smell the.... Daisies?  6x6  o/p
Hi Friends, Well I cannot believe I have let so much time go by since I posted the last time.  I have been extremely busy though.  I have been working on some larger pieces and trying to get some work done for a couple of shows coming up.  I have also been shipping some...two paintings for 2 shows that I am fortunate enough to be in.  I will be happy to share that info with you if you are interested in a later blog...but today I would like to tell you that this little painting.  This is one of my 50/50 works however I have decided to do this one a little differently.  Instead of starting the bid at $50.00, I've decided to start at $100.00.  The reason for this is that this one is for a great cause...all of the net proceeds (winning bid less shipping) will go to the efforts to help the children in Somalia through World Vision.   World Vision is a fiscally responsible organization that is instrumental in helping children all over the world in poor circumstances.  I have had the privilege to sponsor children through them for the last 15 years.  The child that I am sponsoring now is from the Philippines...Anna Mae.  :) I began her sponsorship when  she was she is 16 and about to graduate!  Stay tuned because in coming days, I will scan and post the letter I received from her the other day with her picture.  Anyway, this painting represents what I would like to do with my art....use it for good.  If you would like to donate:

Sold!  to Pam Phillips  Thank you Pam for helping me contribute to World Vision!
