I have been so fortunate to have been able to travel to some wonderful places to paint. However, this painting was created near my home. I was out with my friend Carrie Ballard during a time when all of the wildflowers were in bloom. Carrie loves yellow fields and so we stopped at the sight of this one. Fun. Beautiful day. I remember how I felt when painting it. That is the great thing about painting outside - you feel a little like you are a bit closer to God. This one is at my studio. If anyone out there in Internet land is interested, please email me or call me. In the next few days I will be posting some paintings from my trips this year to France, Carmel, and The Texas Hill Country. So please stay tuned......Blessings-Long Morning Shadows 8x10 oil on linen panel

I received this tiny box of candies as a gift from one of my students whose husband frequently flies to France. France is one of my favorite places. Thank you Mark!

This painting was done in Gordes, Provence during my recent trip to France. It was a really windy day and I had to find cover in a corner behind some buildings across the street. My easel blew over 3 times but I finally finished this study. I will be posting some larger paintings from my trip in the future.

This little painting was done this spring in my studio in Old Town Spring and will be in the Bosque Conservatory show in October. I don't know why I enjoy painting flowers so much but I do. It seems that each flower has it's own personality and each are different in their own way. I really try to capture each flower with it's own particular beauty the way that God created it.
"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field which today is , and tomorrow is gone, will He not much more clothe you?" Jesus
